Acetasol HC is commonly used to treat infections of the outer ear and ear canal. Also branded as Vosol HC, Acetasol HC combines the antibacterial and antifungal action of acetic acid with the anti-inflammatory functions of hydrocortisone.

As a generic, Acetasol HC is referred to as Acetic Acid with Hydrocortisone.

Like all prescription medications, Acetasol HC should only be used as directed by your doctor and pharmacist. Use Acetasol HC for the full time prescribed by your doctor, even if you think your symptoms have gone away. Stopping use too soon may not completely clear the infection. This could result in the infection returning, or dull the effectiveness of the medication should another infection occur.

Likewise, you should not continue using Acetasol HC beyond the time period prescribed by your doctor.
